Wayfarer (2022) was commissioned by Nascent, a New York art consulting firm, for an architectural moment at the Le Méridien on Fifth Avenue. The hotel needed an artwork that would inhabit its front-facing street-level window, the first visual encounter for anyone approaching the property, while offering a different kind of presence from inside the lobby. Mansur created a double-sided acrylic sculpture that shifts with changing light and perspective. Visible from the street and quietly enveloping up close, the piece serves as a subtle, luminous landmark for the hotel.
