An 8’ diameter wall sculpture for an opulent lobby with triple height ceilings and custom millwork.
The piece is one of Kal’s largest pieces, and was commissioned by Daniel Goldner Architects for the Serrano in New York’s Upper East Side.
The work combines the traditions of sculpture and painting.
A built and painted sculpture is housed within translucent acrylic panels that cause the internal elements to shift under changing light and viewing conditions. The light casts internal shadows, illuminates other segments, and allows the viewer to visually travel through the composition.
