These artworks are pigmented and carved epoxy slabs. Their solidity is borne out of a process combining temperature, time, and viscosity. These physical forces result in translucent and topographical objects. With this new work Kal Mansur continues his exploration of the forces that shape the natural world. He named the series knapped -- the act of striking a stone with another stone – evoking slabs that appear to be relics excavated from the future.
