Knapped, 12.75" x 8.75"
These artworks are pigmented and carved epoxy slabs. Their solidity is borne out of a process combining temperature, time, and viscosity. These physical forces result in translucent and topographical objects. With this new work Mansur continues his exploration of the forces that shape materiality and abstraction.

The Knapped artworks are pigmented and carved epoxy slabs. Mansur pours liquid resin and uses time and temperature to create layered mounds of colour. Using a milling machine, he carves into the slab, creating topographies and excavating layers of colour. These elaborate processes result in an ethereal, translucent object, appearing to be a relic excavated from the future. View series here.
